December's Top Products

H50 by GM Collin ~ Menopause is a part of a woman's natural aging process. The homormonal chances affect the body as well as the skin's appearance. Gm Collin has formulated three fantastic products called H-50 Therapy that help battle these hormonal changes and to regenerate the skin. The aging signs of menopause include dryness, thinning, sagging, uneven pigmentation, dull complexion, deeper wrinkles and increased structural fragility.
H-50 therapy is available in a serum, a normal-to-oily cream and a normal-to-dry cream. It is formulated with natural ingredients with 5 peptides that are preventative and corrective to help rebalance the skin. H-50 is based on three key concepts: hormones, homeostasis and hydrating. Anyone who is pre-menopausal, menopausal or post-menopausal are good candidates for these products. H-50 is available at a reducde price in a duo kit, so don't delay and try it today! Consult with one of our knowledgeable estheticians for appropriate recommendations.

Elastin Jour and Nuit ~ In our Yonka line we have two amazing anti-aging, wintertime protection face creams: Elastin Jour and Elastin Nuit.

Elastin Nuit is for nighttime use after cleansing and toning. It is formulated for all skin types and will rejuvenate and deeply nourish the skin with it's rich texture. The active ingredients include glycoproteinic extracts, elastin, she butter, wheat germ oil and vitamin C.
These two products compliment each other very well. Don't hesitate to book a Yonka facial today and ask one of our estheticians to speak with you about Yonka's fabulous Elastin creams.

Busy Bees at Skindulgence Spa

The spa has been buzzing with activity these last couple of days and us Spa Divas are in Skindulgence overdrive. For the last four days we have been hosting and attending events and have enjoyed every minute of it.

On Thursday we celebrated our 20th Anniversary with a fun S'party for all of our loyal clients. There was wine, refreshments and oodles of prizes, not to mention incredible discounts on merchandise and the chance to mingle with your fellow spa-enthusiasts. We'd like the thank everyone who attended for making our S'party a smashing success! We hope you had a fantastic evening and we look forward to seeing you next year.

On Friday and Saturday we extended some of our Anniversary specials to clients who couldn't make it to our S'party. We got little chance to get ourselves organized before...

Sunday we attended Art Knapps Holiday Ladies Night. Art Knapps looked fabulous as always and we had such fun meeting so many new faces. It's pretty clear that the Season of Giving is upon us -- women left and right were going crazy for some of our hottest items, namely our luxurious shoulder wraps and our unique, hand picked jewelry. If you're having a tough time picking out that special something for that extra special someone, come check out our awesome gift ideas and fabulous holiday gift packages.

Tips to everyday calm...

1. Let relaxation take over with a long, luxurious bath. Schedule a meeting with yourself and your favourite bath goodies. At Skindulgence we have tons of treats for the tub, from bath bombs and loofahs to salts and oils to help you soak away your stresses. Don't forget to dim the lights, light some candles and try to stop all those racings thoughts. Be patient with yourself, peace and relaxation will wash over you once you are able to let go of your day-to-day bothers (even if it is for only twenty minutes)!

2. Jot your thoughts. Writing nightly (or even better, throughout the whole day) can help to center yourself as well as better organize your day and mind. Buy a journal with a cover that speaks to you, be it an ocean scene, sparkles or a cute cartoon picture, and you'll be more likely to want to reach for it. Don't stop at To-Do lists, write down your feelings and musings. Be as honest as possible and you might be surprised at how clear your head is.

At Skindulgence, we know that relaxation is key to a healthy mind and body. Keep checking back here at the Skindulgence blog for frequent tips to de-stress and recollect.

Where Massage Originated

Today massage is practiced globally, with specialized techniques originating from all over the world. But did you know that the Chinese were the first ones to use it over 3000 years ago to help with vitality? Pehr Hennik Ling brought the healing power of touch to the United States sometime in the early 1800s. Later, Johan Mezqer renamed the different massage strokes in French.

Your Skin: The Hero

While many people, especially modern women, know that it is important to use high quality products and a gentle touch when it comes to facial care, the skin on the rest of the body is often neglected. While you might think of your skin as an afterthought, your internal organs are thinking otherwise! Your skin protects your organs from injury and infection. Consider this: You can survive without a kidney, a gall bladder or an appendix, but get a third degree burn and you're in trouble. Without your skin to protect them, your internal organs can shut down and you will go into shock and possibly die.

The Benefits of Massage

Not only does facial and body massage feel amazing but these practices have many health benefits as well. Massage helps detoxify the skin by stimulating the lymphatic system, a critical step in filtering waste out of the body. It can also help to boost the immune system and ward of sickness. Regular massages help the body relax and allow muscles to become more flexible helping to reduce physical injury (as well as help to rehabilitate previous injuries). It can also increase energy, encourage relaxation, promote healthier sleeping habits and reduce pain thanks to a release in the hormone Serotonin.

Massage can also greatly benefit the appearance, texture and quality of your skin. It helps oxygenate and improve circulation for a healthy glow as well as relax muscles reducing the appearance of wrinkles. Stimulation of the skin can also increase it's ability to absorb products that can help alter your skin's appearance.

Many Massages

There are so many types of massages available that it can hard to know what will be best for you. At Skindulgence we offer a wide variety and our knowledgeable staff can help you decide what will benefit you the most.

During the month of November visit us to receive a special discount (only $103 for a 45 minute treatment!) on our decadent Lava Shell Massage!
This amazing procedure is a spin off of hot stone massage except it uses a renewable resource: Shells and self-heating active ingredients from a marine source!

If that sounds too indulgent for you ( that even possible?!) we offer a selection of other massages, like a simple but rejuvenating aromatherapy massage using essential oils. Essential oils help to alter moods, assist with the calming of the mind and physically help to reduce ailments. At Skindulgence we offer a wide blend of customized oils to suit your needs. Feeling stressed? PMSing? Muscle problems? We’ve got a blend for that!

Why not treat yourself just in time for the holiday season to a little relaxation? It'll do you a world of a good!
